Boxing Day: Man Knocks Out Wife’s Tooth For Dancing With Neighbour
The Yuletide celebration ended abruptly for a woman whose husband pounced on her, in Olodi- Apapa area of Lagos State on Boxing Day, removing one of her teeth.
The residents were eating and dancing with their landlord along Kirikiri Road when one of the male tenants identified as Joseph noticed that his wife, Anna, had been dancing for a long time with a particular young man.
One of the tenants who spoke on the condition of anonymity disclosed that Joseph who was angry with the development called his wife and warned her against dancing with the young man.
The source said, “Like a hunting dog that refused to listen to the sound of its master’s whistle, his wife named Anna continued to dance with the said tenant called Stephen. At a point, the angry husband went to them and dragged his wife who struggled to free herself and return to the young man. The jealous husband slapped his wife and a fight ensued. In the process, the man gave her a blow across the lips and she began to bleed.
“We held both the husband and the wife and attempted to settle them. The woman screamed that her husband had injured her lips. She later touched her teeth and observed that a tooth was shaking. Before we know it, she was holding her tooth in the hand.”
The source said it took the landlord and tenants over an hour to settle the problem after which the Boxing Day ‘party’ came to an end.
He said the man accused the wife of dating the young man, if not she wouldn’t have abandoned him to dance with his neighbour. He told the wife to go and live with the man if she loved him more.
