Ishiomole and Wife took Dance to the StreerStreer

Youths and supporters of the APC took to the streets to celebrate the victory over the PDP. Governor Adams Oshiomhole jumped for joy at his office where he was watching the collation and final announcement of results. Oshiomhole took to the dance floor briefly with his wife Iara. Members of the staff also joined in the celebration. Other leaders that joined him were Hon Rasaq Bello-Osagie, Priestly Ediagbonya, former Deputy Governor, Lucky Imasuen, Blessing Agbomhere among others. He later joined the governor-elect in a road show as many residents defied rain to be part of the celebration.

Two injured as train rams into vehicle in Rivers [PHOTOS]

There was tension in the Woji area of Rivers state on Monday as a passengers train rammed into a hilux vehicle. DAILY POST gathered that the incident happened in the early hours of today at Woji railway junction, Rumurolu in Port Harcourt, the state capital. The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Omoni Nnamdi, while confirming the incident, told DAILY POST that, “Two persons were injured in the accident and are currently receiving medical attention in the hospital. The PPRO, however, dismissed claims the bashed van belonged to the Nigeria Police Force. He said it belongs to one of the companies in Port Harcourt. “The traffic gridlock caused by the accident between the train and the hilux van has been cleared and as we speak, there is free flow of traffic and people are going about their lawful business. “The Command is on top of the situation and we promise to make the state suitable for all to live in,” Nnamdi added

The African Union (AU) have finally launched a diplomatic passport for its African citizens at the opening ceremony of the 27th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union. The 27th Ordinary Session of the African Union Assembly of Heads of State and Government was held on 17th July 2016, at the Kigali Convention Centre (KCC), Rwanda, with a strong call for unity and love for the continent. The opening ceremony was marked by a symbolic act of Pan-Africanism with the launch of the African Union (AU) passport aimed at facilitating the free movement of people on the continent. H.E. The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has warned that the nation’s university sector may soon be thrown into crisis if the federal government fails to begin the total implementation of the 2009 ASUU-FG agreement, especially the NEEDS assessment agreement. The union also urged the federal government to reverse the ban on post-UTME and the granting to JAMB exclusive rights to admit students to tertiary institutions. Addressing journalists yesterday in Abuja, ASUU president, Biodun Ogunyemi urged well-meaning Nigerians to intervene to avert a looming crisis in the university system.
