India High Commissioner Exposes Diezani's $14b Shady Oil Deal With His Country

Nigeria - The Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ajjampur R. Ghanashyam, has revealed that the NNPC had failed to sign a long-term agreement with New Delhi, Nigeria’s Number One oil buyer, but rather used intermediaries in the annual $14 billion deal. The Indian High Commissioner added that apart from the lack of long-term agreement between the two countries on crude oil purchases, in 2006, an Indian company, Oil & Natural Gas Commission Videsh Limited (OVL) and Mittal Energy International, which is a joint venture between OVL, an Indian government company, and Mittal Energy a private firm, applied for oil concession. 39 soldiers attack community Beat and Destroy Properties to Coma

THIRTY-NINE soldiers from the Nigeria Army School of Military Engineering (NASME) yesterday attacked a community in north bank area of Makurdi, capital of Benue State. It was gathered that the rampaging soldiers vandalised not less than 200 vehicles and made away with mobile phones, TV set, radio and other personal effects belonging to the residents. Some of them men alleged that the soldiers raped their wives, a claim our correspondent could not confirm. The soldiers also beat up the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Samuel Attah. His new Toyota Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) was also smashed. The Majority of Leader of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has replied the governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, over his admission that he worked for the emergence of the current Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, against his bid for the office. Messrs Dogara and Gbajabiamila jostled for the position of Speaker of the 8th Assembly, which the former won despite stiff opposition from the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the party’s power brokers. Mr. Tambuwal, who is the immediate past Speaker, said on Sunday that although he had strong affinity with Mr. Gbajabiamila, he, alongside seven other principal officers of the last Assembly, opted for Mr. Dogara. Based on the latest reports, Emmanuel Kachikwu, the new managing director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, sacked all the subsidiaries of the group and retired 38 senior managers.
